- Colored Bike Lane / Traffic Calming

The project consisted of Streetbond Color Coating. The main concept was a traffic calming design, with the idea being to narrow the roadway on each side visually by delineating a 4' wide colored bike path. The community had long expressed their concerns about the excessive speed of through traffic, because the road led to the main city center. Project details were approximately one mile of roadway colored with a Brick Red Streetprint Color Coating. Things to consider:

-- The City was able to implement a 2 pronged safety program by visually narrowing the roadway to slow motorist speed down. At the same time it was made safer for bicyclists, due to the slowed speed, as well as the eye-catching color of the bike lane which helps to keep motorists attention where it belongs.
